The Bicycle Garage was founded in 1993 by Matt Klucha, and initially produced the custom designed an fabricated "MSH1" Mountain Bike full suspension mountain bike. In 2005, the company added their website at http://www.thebicyclegarage.net. Today, the company offers Bicycle repair service, sales of bicycle components, accessories, and apparel. Chronology
1987
Matt Klucha moves to Toronto, Canada in advance of entering university and lands a job as a bicycle mechanic at a small, but cool service oriented bike shop. Loves the job, works crazy hours, and many nights sleeps on a stack of bike boxes in the basement. Is spotted posing as a mannequin in the shop's front display window after hours on numerous evenings... crowds gather...
1993
Matt Klucha is working in Ottawa, Canada on a university mechanical engineering internship. Ottawa is a city that is big on cycling, therefore Matt sees the opportunity to offer bicycle repair services to friends, and co- workers. Matt gets more business than expected for what was supposed to be a hobby. Matt works out of a garage, and coins the business name "The Bicycle Garage".
1995/6
Matt Klucha as part of his final year of university thesis project designs, and fabricates a full suspension mountain bike. Coins the Custom Bike Company Name "MSH1 Bicycle Works"... receives an A+ for the effort, and gets to keep the product, which he still rides today as part of his bicycle collection.
1998
The Bicycle Garage finds a home in Colchester, Connecticut. Shop capabilities upgraded significantly, providing top-notch services.
2006
The Bicycle Garage formally opens its online presence adding it's website to the internet at http://www.thebicyclegarage.net. Regular upgrades are made to facilities and equipment over the years since moving to CT.
2007+
The Bicycle Garage proceeds to operate as a service oriented bike shop. Expands the product line offerings in the shop, and online. MSH1 Bicycle Works continues to expand.
